“Grande Blues” Limeade Recipe

–Blueberry and lime simple syrup Ingredients
2/3 cup of fresh lime juice (4 limes)
Zest of 1 lime
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1 package (4.4 ounces) Hurst Berry Farms “Grande Blues” Blueberries (Our sponsor, Hurst’s Berry Farm*, provided us with amazing blueberries for this featured recipe!)
–Cocktail Ingredients
2 ounces blueberry and lime simple syrup
1 ounce rum
1 ounce sparkling white wine
2 ounces still or sparkling water
Lime wedge and lemon balm leaves for garnish

–Directions to make blueberry and lime simple syrup
Place all ingredients except blueberries in a small saucepot over medium heat and stir with wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved.
Once sugar is dissolved, bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute.
Remove from heat, strain and place back on the heat.
Add blueberries and cook for 1 more minute.
Remove from heat and cool completely.
–Directions to Make the Cocktail
Fill a tall glass with ice.
Add simple syrup, rum and sparkling wine, top off with water and stir until well blended.
Garnish with lime wedge and lemon balm leaves.
